Biking Events Taking Place in Whistler in August

Whistler is paradise for bikers! Whether you enjoy cross-country, all-mountain, enduro, or trail, you'll find amazing routes to suit your taste in Whistler! There are also plenty of biking-related events that take place throughout the summer. Here are some of the great upcoming biking events that you should check out this August!

WORCA Thursday Toonie Rides

August 4, 11, and 18, 2022 

Toonie Rides take place each Thursday in varying locations. These fun, friendly events are hosted by the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association (WORCA). All are invited to participate, no matter their age or ability! The only requirements are that you register in advance, wear a helmet, and have a bike that is in working order. Toonie Rides are intended to bring the community together to ride, eat, and have a beverage all while celebrating biking. It is a positive, exciting riding experience!

Crankworx Whistler 

August 5-14, 2022 

Crankworx is a multi-stop international festival series during which amazingly talented mountain bikers come together to compete at the elite-level, across many different disciplines. They also host amateur races, kids contests, and celebrations of mountain bike culture. This series now takes place across many cities and countries, but it returns to Whistler, the birth place of Crankworx, each year for the ultimate mountain biking celebration.

Pemberton Slow Food Cycle Sunday 

August 21, 2022 

Slow Food Cycle Sunday takes the concept of "fast food drive throughs" and elevates it. During this event, you get to ride through Pemberton Meadows farmland and enjoy a buffet of food. You'll meet local growers and sample lots of yummy produce, fresh from the fields! This is Sea to Sky's signature agri-tourism event. It is unmissable!

Phat DH Wednesdays Presented by Kokanee 

August 24, 2022

This popular race series takes place on select Wednesday evenings. They'll put your skills to the test and then treat you to awesome après at the Garibaldi Lift Company. There will also be prizes provided by Bike Park sponsors. All riders must be Whistler Off-Road Cycling Association (WORCA) members. 

If you're traveling with kids, then you should check out the Phat Kidz Race Series on August 26 as well. This fun, beginner-style race allows children ages 7 to 15 to compete on green and blue trails.

What's Next?

The RBC GranFondo Whistler 

September 10, 2022 

The RBC GranFondo Whistler is a stunning cycling journey that tackles the famous Sea to Sky corridor between Vancouver and Whistler. The landscapes are absolutely stunning alone the route, and the ride will be completely free of traffic. Distance options range from 55 km to 122 km. The event is family friendly and open to all abilities.

Norco Canadian Enduro Series 

September 24-25, 2022 

The Norco Canadian Enduro Series is the flagship Enduro series in Canada. For 2022, Whistler will serve as the final NCES stop and will host the Norco Canadian Enduro Championships. Over two days, there will be six stages of enduro racings, which will cover epic trails and promote casual west coast culture.
