Whistler is almost as famous for fun off the slopes as it is for it's amazing skiing, and the fantastic après-ski scene is to thank for that reputation. After you work up an appetite on the mountain, you will have earned a happy hour drink at one of our favorite local establishments. While there's plenty of great choices in the village for a place to relax with a beverage, we've managed to single out our 3 favorites from the pack.
The Legendary Standby: Dusty's Bar and BBQ
Just steps from the Creekside Gondola, this bar is the original watering hole in Whistler-Blackcomb. Enjoy the sunny deck, the best Caesar salad in the world, and some of the most mouth-watering barbeque you've ever tasted. The bar is named after a stuffed horse that used to sit on the bar until a female patron in her birthday suit got on top of him, at which time he sprung to life, bucked her off into a snowbank, and ran off into the night (or so the legend goes!). The moral of the story is: if you're looking for a bit of a wild time, this is the place.
Great Events and Specials: The Crystal Lounge
There's always something going on at the Crystal Lounge, whether it's live music, ski and snowboard giveaways, trivia night, karaoke, or just a great happy hour deal. The wings special is a local favorite, and the central location in Whistler Village can't be beat! If you are looking for an activity with your après, this is the place to be.
Great for Families: Black's Pub
With a huge menu, even the most finicky kids will find something they like at Black's Pub. Grown ups can be picky too, with over 90 beers on tap. While this bar gets rowdier late at night after the kids go to bed, this is a great place to keep everyone happy during après hours.
