This summer, a brand new heli-biking trail will open between Whistler and Pemberton, BC. This trail is the perfect new adventure for adrenaline-seeking travelers! AlpX, the unification and expansion of Blackcomb's adventure tourism offerings, will operate the trail.
So what is heli-biking anyways? The concept is simple: you take a chopper up a mountain and you bike back down. Many consider it one of the most epic ways to bike in the backcountry. You get a rush and you get to experience stunning rustic scenery!

Heli-biking made the news a few years ago when unsanctioned trails became popular, leading to the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations to discontinuing access until a more sustainable long term option was developed. Now, heli-biking is back and ready to welcome thrill seekers!
The new trail will feature 13km of fresh singletrack over 1600m (5,250ft) of descent. This will include a 3km Black Diamond peak descent, a 1.2km climb trail, and an Intermediate Blue trail of 9km along an alpine ridge line. The bike trail system's safety is approved by Transport Canada and the FAA. The new heli-biking system is also much better for the environment!
Want to try it? ApX's prices start at $349CAD per rider when you book a private helicopter for your group of 5. Gather your friends and give it a go! You'll be glad that you tried it!
