One way they're working to improve the guest experience is by upgrading infrastructure such as the resort's gondolas.

On December 23, 2022, Whistler Blackcomb finally reopened the gondola at the Creekside Base area. The public has been looking forward to using the upgraded gondola, which is expected to decrease wait times for guests and increase the resort's out-of-base uphill capacity. Previously, the gondola was able to carry six people per cabin. The capacity has now been increased to ten people! This is an overall increase in capacity of 35%.
The upgrades to the Creekside gondola have been highly anticipated. Because the opening of the gondola was previously delayed due to supply chain issues, the opening this winter felt extra exciting!

The opening of the Creekside gondola follows the opening of the new-and-improved, six person, high speed Big Red Express, which started operating the week before the Creekside gondola. Both lifts have been enhanced in accordance with the Epic Lift Upgrade initiative. You can expect more upgrades in the year to come! Whistler will continue to become faster, easier, and more magical.
